This is one of the stranger things I’ve ever heard of, and not entirely right either. Apparently in my small town, the power company “forgot” or just decided not to send out people to read the meters for the past three months. As many know, those were the summer months for the USA. You know — the months where people have to run the air to manage not to fill a tub with sweat.
So guess what happened this month? If you said “a power bill 2-3x the normal amount” you’d be right!
Apparently, despite it being the summer months, the power company just charged the “no heat or air conditioning electric bill price” for the months. It apparently never occured to them to charge say, $50-75 more a month and then consider it a credit if people didn’t use that much. Or for that matter, not say “here’s your bill that’s up to 3x as much as normal (talking a $300-1000 bill for some home people) and say “yep, it’s still due this month!”
I just had to comment about this. You know the pictures of the windmills that I posted, and all the other “windmills” posts? Well — it seems the political parties are not mentioning them as well! Sadly, based on some of the commercials locally, it seems like they’re wanting to take credit for it. Not sure, can’t say for certain — maybe it’s just the ones run locally.
But I just thought I’d tell you all that the windmills who’s pictures were personally taken by me and my family are the same ones being mentioned in the political campaigns. Or again, the ones around me.
OK, so since I’m still being ignored with no reason why (come on, you ask a question they acknowledge receipt and say “ask your question” – you ask and they don’t reply). So next week they’ll either have me in person, or a letter sent to them. True, they can ignore that as well (well, a letter mailed to them), but it might be a tad bit harder since it’d leave a paper trail. So bicycle updates will…. hopefully….. be coming soon.
Sad when you have to kill a tree to get someone’s attention.
Well apparently every single political party and candidate is for “change”! Obama’s the candidate for chang[ing his viewpoints]. Teh democrat party is the party for change! The republican party is the party for change! The party X is the party for change! Everyone’s the party for change!
Even in my town there’s a huge sign: Illinois republicans for change! Yet… for changing what? Based on the past in my town and county the only thing that’s changed is, well, how much stuff costs and the number of jobs (as in fewer). Politicians keep on doing the same thing as always, and rocking the boat isn’t allowed.
But they’re all for change. What’s more surprising than anything in my town at least is this: the republicans saying they’re for “change” are already in office! Makes you wonder — are they saying they did such a bad job these past years that they need change? And if so — why would someone re-elect them?
Sometimes you have to love the little psychological ploys. Say your for “change” and people think “change! We need change!!!” All the while they forget these same candidates are the same ones that approved or instituded the policies that you don’t want.
If only people actually paid attention — they might just vote for a person or party that’s truely for change.
The title says it all. Apparently the city has chosed to ignore all contact from me about this. I have to honestly say that despite it being an oil town (where we actually produce all fuel types in the town from what I’ve been told – e85, biodesiel, etc) — there’s starting to be a fairly large amount of people taking their bicycles out of the garage and into the streets. There’s even people riding golf carts [illegally] in the streets to try and save money! We’re talking electric scooters and things once considered “kids toys” are not being used by people to save gas.
The thought that the town doesn’t care enough to let people use bicycles and actually have a place to park them is unthinkable.
This is something I happened to stumble upon, that is not so much shocking as it is frightening: “Coastal Dead Zones are Growing“, with things such as agriculture runoff being listed as to blame (partially). These areas are considered coastal regions where the seabed is depleted of so much oxygen that nothing can live there.
It’s just another case of things like pullies and ropes… you can’t move something one place without having something happen someplace else. Cause and effect. With all the problems we’re starting to notice it makes one wonder how long it’ll be before things are done to help take care of the problem. All cost money, but when things are finally done…… it’s all seeming like it’ll be too little, too late.
Yes, this is just an extension of the prior post about the windmills. In all honesty it could’ve just been added to the last one — but as I’m wanting a post every single day it was stuck in it’s own post.
So, here’s a few pictures of them!

Sadly…. things such as these aren’t found anywhere near my town. We do have a coal-based power plant or two I believe. Gotta “love” that pollution right?
But on the plus side, it’s always a good thing to see towns actually consider alternative power sources, almost no matter what the reason.
I hope that they have a huge success, as when I drove by on business only some were turning, for it’ll help pave the way for these to be put up many places throughout the United States.
While driving the other day, I actually found a town that has tons of windmills all over the farmland! It’s surprising to say the least, but it’s a good sign for future power needs. I’d be bringing it up in my town, but considering the bicycle thing I’m going to have to start small.
Well, as it is I still have no idea what’s causing the crop circles — nor have I received any reply about the bicycle things — nor have I received any reply from my business plan to create a completely green community (for profit so investors will invest) that requires government permission….
Just so you all know.
While this is short for now, as this is a busy week and all, I keep on getting reminded every single day that the government offices that I ask questions from don’t seem to like responding. They don’t send read receipts, nothing. I don’t even have a clue to if many of them have even received the message. It makes a person want to send an actual letter through the postal service. Of course they’re probably screened for “security” and “misplaced” if it contains information they don’t want to see.
I’ll have more of this later on.
