These, I can just about tolerate. However ridiculous I may find them, it does test the candidate&#039;s ability to think on their feet and in some cases, does indicate the level of creativity.

But when you get something like:

&quot;Which Harry Potter/Star Trek/Star Wars/Friends character would you be&quot;, I draw the line. For a start, the interviewer is making an assumption that the candidate has seen the film or read the book and is familar enough with the characters to answer. It doesn&#039;t matter how popular a franchise is, not everyone will have bought into it. During her hunt for &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.graduate-jobs.com/&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;graduate jobs&lt;/a&gt;, she got asked which character from Friends she would be. She didn&#039;t get the job and I suspect it was because she told the interviewer that she had never seen it, then asked how the question pertained to the job. 

I suppose it worked quite well though, in one way. The interviewer learned that my sister expected the same level of intelligence demanded from her and my sister learned that it was not present.</description>
